OUTLINED ITINERARY
Day 1: Kigali Serena Hotel, Rwanda.
Day Itinerary
Arrive at Kigali International Airport where you will be met by Emburara Safaris driver and transfer to your accommodation.
Day 2: Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, Musanze, Rwanda.
Day Itinerary
Check out and meet your guide for the Kigali city tour including the genocide visit, have lunch in town and later transfer to Musanze arriving in time for dinner and overnight at Five Volcanoes, an exclusive lodge close to Volcanoes National Park.
Day 3: Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, Musanze, Rwanda.
Day Itinerary
Embark on the extraordinary adventure as you set out for Gorilla trekking within the breathtaking Volcanoes National Park. Accompanied by experience guides and trackers, venture into the misty jungles in search of the mystic mountain Gorillas. As you trek through the mist-covered terrain, listen to the sounds of nature and keep an eye out for other wildlife species that inhabit the park, including golden monkeys and various bird species. Encounter the magnificent creatures and observe them in their natural habitat, their sheer strength and gentle demeanour.
Return to the lodge for lunch, freshen up and take a canoe ride on a gentle river near Musanze, soak up impressive views, watch abundant bird species, look out for otters and meeting friendly communities. Retire for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Buhoma Lodge, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Day Itinerary
Drive from Kigali to Bwindi via the Kyanika boarder showcasing the beauty of Rwanda and Uganda. The road winds through rolling hills, rural villages, and the verdant countryside. Arrive at the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth National Park, Elephant Plains Lodge
Day Itinerary
Start your day with a refreshed breakfast, later trek through the Bwindi Forest for the Batwa cultural experience and spend some time with the indigenous communities. The guided cultural trail with the Batwa pygmies engaging in their ancestral traditions, dances and stories. This intimate interaction offers insights in their way of life, their deep connection to the forest and their enduring cultural heritage. Retire back to the lodge for lunch and later drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving the lodge in time for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Elephant Plains Lodge, Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in south-western part of the country and home to an abundance of wildlife including the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros) as well as various antelope species, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. Game drives and boat safaris on the Kazinga Channel offer excellent opportunities to observe these animals.
Day Itinerary
Embark on a morning game drive along the Kasenyi plains and be on the look for Lions, Elephants, Leopards (though hard to spot), Bushbucks, Cape Buffaloes, Waterbucks, Giant Forest Hogs, Uganda Kob among others. Return to your lodge for lunch and later transfer for the afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise popular spot for hippos, crocodiles and numerous water bird species.
Day 7: Chimpundu Lodge, Kibale Forest National Park
The Kibale-Fort Portal area is one of Uganda’s most rewarding destinations to explore. Kibale National Park contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda.
The park is home to a total of 70 mammal species, most famously 13 species of primate including the chimpanzee. It also contains over 375 species of birds.
Day Itinerary
After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive along the western arm of the Great African Rift Valley to Kibale Forest, approx. 2-3 hours. Arrive in time for lunch.
Day 8: Chimpundu Lodge, Kibale Forest National Park
Day Itinerary
Drive 5 minutes to National Park Headquarters to meet your guides for the day and begin your chimpanzee tracking experience as well as several other species of primates in their natural habitat. You will have an opportunity to be within metres of these amusing and very social apes, sharing in their daily lives and experiencing their day-to-day activities. Embark on the afternoon crater lake visit and Kibale forest hike.
Day 9: Protea Hotel by Marriott Entebbe
Day Itinerary
Following breakfast, depart Kibale park and drive approx. 7hours to Entebbe for overnight.
Day 10: End of Itinerary
Spend the day exploring Entebbe and it’s surrounds then transfer to Entebbe Airport and connect to your international flight out.
